Beautiful!
boots review on FRYE Womens Dorado Riding Black

Hello,
Whether you believe this or not this is my first review. I felt I should write one this go round,..
I wanted these boots for a few weeks and read review after review not for quality but for fit. I have a size 10-11 foot and I have a solid calf! For the cost of the boot, I didn't want to buy them and have to deal with returns etc. As I stated, I wanted these boots so after reading some very helpful honest reviews I went forward and purchased them. They are perfect. I went with a size 11 and have nice wiggle room and could even wear a light sock if I wanted too. They do not slide at all. The most important thing for me was to get them up and over the calf and they do and feel just fine. I hope this helps. And a thank you to all those folks who wrote reviews that helped me,....
I love, love these boots. This is my second pair of Frye and it's quality shows. I purchased a 1/2 size down, 6 1/2, and the heel doesn't slip as much. I had purchased another pair and the heel was unbearable so I try another pair and it was better. As others noted, it's fits tightly at the toes but because it's leather it stretched and now fits. I can't look at other boots nor wear my old boots, they just don't compare to look and fit.
ReplyDeleteI have never owned a pair of "real" boots before. I purchased the Jade color this Fall and have never looked back! If it's possible to say that boots make you feel good about yourself then these fit the bill. From the moment I slipped into them, they fit like a glove. No wearing in, no blisters, all out comfort and oh, right! Lots of compliments. If you're new to the boot thing....stay away...you'll be addicted! Thank you, Frye! I might now have to buy another pair.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a nice pair of riding boots and found these a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately the seller I usually buy from didn't have them in my size in black. So I was thrilled when I found them on Amazon and at a slightly better price.
ReplyDeleteThey are exactly what I wanted. The height is just right for me. I am just under 5'7" and they almost come to the knee. The calf width is fine. I have one leg that has been broken twice and the calf muscle is smaller than the other. The shaft fit both legs fine and while I had more room on the slimmer leg, it was not too much.
I did have some heel slide on the first wearing but just need slightly thicker socks. Otherwise they were very comfortable and I did receive a lot of compliments on them.
They're not giving them away but when compared to other brands I looked at, I thought they were priced reasonably. Especially when I saw the quality of workmanship and materials.
I did buy them mostly for fashion, but I could actually ride in these and probably will.
Everything about these boots is perfect! The finish, the color, the fit...oh so comfortable. And surprisingly, can be dressed up as well as dressed down. Well worth the price!
ReplyDeleteI had been looking for tall black riding boots for quite a while when I finally found these. They are beautiful and far surpass any other pair that I looked at. They're a little more expensive than some of the others but they're definitely worth it. The leather and craftsmanship are gorgeous (including the leather soles) and the height of the shaft is perfect (they might be too high for someone on the short side). I did find that they run a bit large in the heal so they can slip up and down as you walk. I tried putting in heal cushions but then I couldn't slip them on comfortably so I just wear thicker socks and that helps. In other reviews some people mentioned that the toe area was tight but I have wide feet and I didn't find that at all. Bottom line, these boots are beautiful and I highly recommend them!
ReplyDeleteI love the quality and fit of frye boots and these were no exception. The bordeaux is a nice deep rich reddish brown. I'm tall and they came right up to my knee cap, which is hard to find. The leather is not thin and so far they don't sag too much with wear. the fit is true to size, do not size down!! they take awhile to break in because the sole is so stiff, but its worth it!
ReplyDeleteThat special Frye look and feel, Fashion, work, warmth.
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty, I save these for very special looks.
Feel very good in these.
These are lovely boots. I'm 5'6", with short legs and fairly "big" calves (15 inches), and they fit perfectly. They're not too tall. They fit true to size on my 7 1/2 feet. I did not find them too narrow. The sole is very stiff, but I've read other reviews that say that this will ease up once they're broken in. Aaaaand my husband thinks they're sexy. Love the boot, love the sale price!
