So I wondered into the Chanel boutique in Soho the other day, and despite the coming of Spring the thing that caught my eye in the store were the combat boots from the Fall collection, the quilted "high boots ". Now I have been looking for a pair of nice boots for a long time, and I am one picky fashionista; to the point where I had rather wear my ballet flats in one of the worst European winters than pick up a pair of those ugly UGG boots , or something worse. But those Chanel Combat boots were something else I tell you. They weren't those big wide Doc Marten types; they were feminine and yet military at the same time. Slim and elongating. Heeled but flat and comfortable at the same time. I was hooked, and at $1375+tax, I was standing at the edge of a cliff and contemplating taking the plunge and buying them.

Fortunately, my MBA education taught me a thing or two about markups, and I just knew those Chanel boots were not worth that price tag - except for the brand obsessed, which despite being a fashionista, I am not brand obsessed, but rather quality obsessed. Anyway, as soon as I got home I started relentlessly searching the web for an equally attractive pair but without the gigantic price tag. Now, studies show that purchases like these (settling for second best) never satisfy and lead to buyers remorse, and I was starting to lose hope with my search results.....until.... finally, I came across these La Canadienne Carter Ankle boots .

At first, the main picture from the front corner angle gave the impression the tip might be overly rounded and wide. But everything else about these boots seemed amazing, Italian leather, made with care in Canada. Even the sole looked much like the Chanel. It's Amazon Prime for me so I decided I had nothing to lose in ordering them.

I have had these boots for a few days now, and they are amazing. Slim looking, comfortable, and fashionable like the Chanel; except honest to God I think these are a bit nicer, the leather feels smoother and thicker. Bottom line these are well worth the price tag and not overly marked up like the Chanel. No buyers remorse here, a statistical anomaly.

These shoes get the NYC fashionista stamp of AMAZING.

    Great boot. The wedge is the perfect height. Very comfortable. I did order 1/2 size larger than normal size, and was pleased with the fit.

    After a few failed attempts to find the perfect black, knee high wedge boot, this is emphatically the pair I've been longing for. Instantly comfortable and true to size (8m), as a very classic style of toe and buckle that won't be outdated in 1 season. The pull-on design requires unbuckling the boot to put on, but the complimentary black material on the back calf is a high grade stretch and holds its shae well, The adjustable buckles ensure no slouching or gaping, and the end result looks like a custom, zippered boot without breaking the elegant lines.

    This is my second pair of Cole Haan shoes ever, and they are batting 1000 for comfort, style, and quality. Well worth the price.

    Was worried about getting them on and off with no zipper but they are great. They stay up and look good, may want to get a gel insert though

    I already have these in black. They are fabulous boots with a reasonable heel height. They look great and are very comfortable. I get regular compliments when I wear these boots.

    This is a beautiful boot. I love the wedge because I get the height without the inconvenience of a heel. I can wear these all day long; very comfortable. You do have to unstrap the bottom buckle every time you put the boots on or take them off, but this doesn't bother me - most boots have a zipper or buckle of some kind - but I think some people found this annoying.

    Saw these boots in Retail store and they didn't have my size.. they were available for a bit less $$ on Amazon and the design is right for not wanting something totally casual and not too dressy... Nice detailing - I bought in Black and Brown! Certainly recommend.

Best riding boots ever!

boots review on FRYE Shirley Over The Knee Riding Leather I loved and wanted this boot regardless of the fact that i knew my calf size was larger then what the boot circumfrance stated. My calf is a 16 3.4.. but i knew that in a couple of days it would give and it did. When i first tried them on they wouldnt go pass my calf then after wearing them in the house they gave but then i realized i should have tried them with socks. I put the socks on and then in two days they stretched and fit my calf nicely. i always order a half size up, which was plenty of room to wear with socks and be comfy. I love this boot and thats why i took 4 days to decide if it was worth all the stretching and it was. Dont plan on buy another black boot for some years. boots review on La Canadienne Womens Blanche Patent Maybe these aren't high-heeled sexy boots , but these boots are sexy and crazy cute. I ordered them in cherry. One change I would make to these boots if I were the designer: I'd make them knee length. They are a little short for the style. I normally wear a 9.5WW. Even though these were only a W, I had plenty of room in the footbed. I've ordered about eight pairs of boots trying to find one to fit and wished I could have kept these, even as an extra pair, since they aren't going to go with everything. My beef with these boots is that even though the calf opening says 16 inches, I could barely zip them up on my 16" calves (where I could on other boots of the same width). I wouldn't recommend buying them unless your calves are 15.5 or under. The leather does not feel like the type to stretch. A huge plus: these are extremely comfortable.
