I received my boots quickly and ordered a size 6, my standard size. I remember last year having to order Tony Lama Signature heart cowboy boots in 6.5 due to they do not zip plus it said they run about a half size small. I saw these boots and immediately I liked them as you won't have to really worry about them looking bad as the look of the boot is so cool! I put them on and the left (usually my problem foot went on fine, no problems, perfect fit). The right one I had problems with at the heel but I broke that foot and the shape of that foot has not recovered. After a little struggle with the zipper (the material from the zipper was actually caught in the zipper), I straightened the zipper out and voila!! Perfect fit! I have had no problems since. I wear boots with socks so if my feet ever swell, I will just wear knee-hi stockings, but these are truly comfortable and casual. I would recommend. Oh, the quality shines right on out! Quality made boot! I'll buy Frye boots again! By the way, everywhere I have worn them, someone always stops me to tell me how much they love these boots !

    These are very nice.
    Beautifully finished.
    Quite practical with the rubber insert on the heal and sole.
    Easy to walk in and good for all-day wearing.
    These do have more pointy toes than it seemed from the illustration.
    That means less room in the toe-box for wide feet like mine.
    The Carson Lug boots are a better filt for me with their more rounded toes.
    You will be happy with these.

    I ordered a size 10 in the redwood color. When I first tried them on they were really tight on my calves and I could barely get them on because of that. I have a 15 inch calf/athletic leg. The footbed part of the boot was very roomy and comfortable though so, I took them to a shoe repair shop and they were able to stretch the top of them to fit just right and I can now get them up over my skinny jeans. I've heard that Frye boots tend to be tight in the calves and many people have to get them stretched so be aware of this when purchasing them! But they are well worth the purchase because they are very thick leather and are built in the way that can easily be repaired. These boots could easily last YEARS. I recommend them!!

    These boots are beautiful and stylish. I love them. I took a risk because I have larger calves, around 15 inches, but decided to give them a try anyway. They were pretty snug when they first arrived so I took them to a shoe stretcher and they were able to make each of them about an inch bigger in circumference. They are now perfect! These boots are pricey, but the quality is worth it.

boots review on FRYE Shirley Over The Knee Riding Leather I loved and wanted this boot regardless of the fact that i knew my calf size was larger then what the boot circumfrance stated. My calf is a 16 3.4.. but i knew that in a couple of days it would give and it did. When i first tried them on they wouldnt go pass my calf then after wearing them in the house they gave but then i realized i should have tried them with socks. I put the socks on and then in two days they stretched and fit my calf nicely. i always order a half size up, which was plenty of room to wear with socks and be comfy. I love this boot and thats why i took 4 days to decide if it was worth all the stretching and it was. Dont plan on buy another black boot for some years. One change I would make to these boots if I were the designer: I'd make them knee length. They are a little short for the style. I normally wear a 9.5WW. Even though these were only a W, I had plenty of room in the footbed. I've ordered about eight pairs of boots trying to find one to fit and wished I could have kept these, even as an extra pair, since they aren't going to go with everything. My beef with these boots is that even though the calf opening says 16 inches, I could barely zip them up on my 16" calves (where I could on other boots of the same width).
