La Canadienne Womens Jaclyn Knee High

Originally I wanted a boot that was in the $100.00 to $150.00 price range and also lightweight since I will be relocating to my home in Puerto Rico soon and there really is no need for a heavy leather boot there! I began looking at boots that appeared similiar to this product but I could never find those less expensive ones in stock so I splurged on these which were almost three times the price of the other boots but I'm glad I did. I give this boot high ratings for many reasons. First of all the boot is very comfortable in width (I always purchase "medium" in width boots /shoes no "narrow" or "wide"), good arch support which is very important to me since I have plantar faciitis. The second extremely important factor was the height and style of the heel. The heel is not so stacked that it looks chunky but instead is just wide and high enough to dress things up a bit. The toe of the boot is not quite round or square, kind of in between which I believe allows it to be a more versatile boot. I didn't intend to utilize them with pants because I have shorter boots for that, however I plan to wear mine with above the knee dresses which gives it the retro look I was looking for and obviously they can be worn with a longer length outfit. Third great factor is the quality of the boot, fabric is nice and stretchy, true black no cast of green or brown hues, stitching is even with no loose or missed stitches, smooth sole but with good grainy traction. The boot fits snug enough around my leg but I consider myself having average calves and a little bit thicker ankles. They may not hug another persons leg as well if they have smaller calves or ankles. Overall a good investment in these boots , they serve my purpose here in the United States and will also be used on the island in the future.

  2. I have tried many boots, but always go back to LA CANADIENNE brand. They may cost a bit more, but the quality, the classic styles and the fit add up to a great purchase that I will wear for many years. So many shoes and boots have cheap man-made soles and heels that are slippery on most surfaces, but these boots have serious rubber soles and heels that keep you grounded during inclement weather while still looking chic and stylish.

  3. Stylish, comfortable, and easy on/easy off--a homerun!! Just fold down the top half way to slide off. Really fantastic boots.
