Beautiful boot

Image
best boots review on La Canadienne Womens Jaclyn Knee High Originally I wanted a boot that was in the $100.00 to $150.00 price range and also lightweight since I will be relocating to my home in Puerto Rico soon and there really is no need for a heavy leather boot there! I began looking at boots that appeared similiar to this product but I could never find those less expensive ones in stock so I splurged on these which were almost three times the price of the other boots but I'm glad I did. I give this boot high ratings for many reasons. First of all the boot is very comfortable in width (I always purchase "medium" in width boots / shoes no "narrow" or "wide"), good arch support which is very important to me since I have plantar faciitis. The second extremely important factor was the height and style of the heel. The heel is not so stacked that it looks chunky but instead is just wide and high enough to dress things up a bit. The toe o...

best boots review on UGG Australia Womens Channing Chestnut Researching Ugg leather boots , I found the online reviews to be most helpful. Customers addressed my concerns which let me to believe I would really like the Channing II Tall Boots. Last winter I purchased a pair in chocolate. They are the most comfortable boots I own. I receive many compliments on them. Many people are surprised when I say they are "Ugg Boots." This year I purchased a pair in black. I love them just as much as I do the chocolate pair. I am petite and have trouble with boots being too tall. These are just the right height. One review mentioned having trouble tucking pants in the boots with the short zipper. I tuck my pants into a pair of socks and have no trouble getting my boots on. I have worn my boots in really cold weather. My feet and legs stay warm. I have worn them in fairly deep snow and have not had trouble with water staining the leather. I will certainly think about gett...

Frye Campus Lug Boot

Image
best boots review on FRYE Womens Campus Lug Chocolate I had been looking at these boots forever. I did not need them. I have boots in every shape, color and heel height, but I could not stop thinking about these. I finally showed them to my husband, who usually discourages more boot purchases, and he loved them. I could not decide on a color; I love them all! He liked the Walnut, so that is what I ordered. On my screen, the color looked kind of reddish, but in person they are a rich, beautiful brown. They have a wonderful patina and I love the darker swirls in the leather. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9 and I ordered a 9. They fit perfectly with my wool dress socks which are of a medium thickness. I have 14 inch calves and the fit there is perfect as well. They are made in America, which I love. They seem like they will be very durable. I have not worn them out of the house because it has been so hot outside, but I have worn them around inside just to get a sense of...

best boots review on FRYE Jackie Button Vintage Leather These boots were just what I was looking for. I wanted tall, western style boots (without being cowboy). These have a moderate heel, (higher than the Melissa) and a rustic leather appearance, on the Cognac. The toe box is comfortable, and the length was roomy. I ordered the 8.5, and found the boot a good fit. I can definitely wear a sock without fear of rubbing or being uncomfortable. I am 5'7" tall and 122 lbs with average sized calves, the boot came up to just below my knee. The top is wide enough to tuck in a standard jean (offering versatility over only skinny jeans). Due to the height, they also look nice with skirts and dresses. I am pleased overall, especially with the quality. Frye doesn't disappoint. Amazon is the best price on the web. Great customer service, as well. Get your FRYE Jackie Button Vintage Leather Now!

a classic beauty--and comfortable

boots review on LOEFFLER RANDALL Womens Matilde Black I've been admiring these for years (even tried buying a Steven Madden Loeffler Randall knockoff Intyce--a sorry imitation) and am delighted with them. I also ordered a half size up, something I'd never done before, but will definitely do again. The extra room makes the boot even more comfortable for even longer and seemed to give me a little more room in the calf. I could have taken my usual size too, but for me the roomier fit was a good choice. I have had trouble with my calves fitting quite snugly in J. Crew boots like the Booker, that's not a problem with these (esp in a 1/2 size up). The vachetta leather and leather lining are superb, as is the heel height. Really flattering on the leg and the almond toe is beautiful. Also, the olive color is much more beautiful and interesting in person. I'd never seen it before and took a chance and was delighted. A really interesting slightly greenish brown that...

best boots review on La Canadienne Womens Knee High Leather This is my very first pair of Frye boots . Being from Melbourne Australia, you have to order brands like Frye online because we don't have them here, that i know of, and i had to order from Amazon because the Frye company doesn't ship to Australia! SO, having obliterated all queries on sizing and all the other reviews here stating this boots ' narrowness in the foot area, i went for it and ordered the Fatigue pair. I just received them today and OMG, they are just so cool, but i understand what everyone's been saying about the width of them now! I'm so glad i didn't go for a smaller size, literally because of the narrowness. But I'm one of the lucky ones, my feet are about medium width and in length, almost 23cm. Normally US size 6 is a little too long, but in this case, not so, my feet fit in them almost straight away with thin socks. One foot is a little wider than the other so it took a ...

Best Boots Ever!

boots review on FRYE Womens Cavalry Strap 15L These boots are great. I'm just under 5'6 and they hit just under my knee. I have many pairs of Fryes, and I find these comparable to the harness 15R in terms of height and style. These, however, are "dressier," and the leather is not as stiff. For example, I'd wear my harness 15Rs in the rain or with snow on the ground, but I wouldn't wear these cavalry straps. The leather on these is thinner, comparatively, and the sole is leather rather than neoprene. These boots are pretty easy to pull on and off, but may be difficult for someone with high arches (I have flat feet, no problem there). I bought my usual size in them and they fit well. I can see the shaft on these eventually slouching down with wear, since they the leather is thin, which isn't a problem for me but may be off-putting for some. When I say "thin," I don't mean cheap. The leather is soft and high quality, its just not as t...

best boots review on FRYE Womens Lindsay Spur Knee High I received my boots quickly and ordered a size 6, my standard size. I remember last year having to order Tony Lama Signature heart cowboy boots in 6.5 due to they do not zip plus it said they run about a half size small. I saw these boots and immediately I liked them as you won't have to really worry about them looking bad as the look of the boot is so cool! I put them on and the left (usually my problem foot went on fine, no problems, perfect fit). The right one I had problems with at the heel but I broke that foot and the shape of that foot has not recovered. After a little struggle with the zipper (the material from the zipper was actually caught in the zipper), I straightened the zipper out and voila!! Perfect fit! I have had no problems since. I wear boots with socks so if my feet ever swell, I will just wear knee-hi stockings, but these are truly comfortable and casual. I would recommend. Oh, the quality...

boots review on FRYE Womens Miranda Back Zip So I wondered into the Chanel boutique in Soho the other day, and despite the coming of Spring the thing that caught my eye in the store were the combat boots from the Fall collection, the quilted "high boots ". Now I have been looking for a pair of nice boots for a long time, and I am one picky fashionista; to the point where I had rather wear my ballet flats in one of the worst European winters than pick up a pair of those ugly UGG boots , or something worse. But those Chanel Combat boots were something else I tell you. They weren't those big wide Doc Marten types; they were feminine and yet military at the same time. Slim and elongating. Heeled but flat and comfortable at the same time. I was hooked, and at $1375+tax, I was standing at the edge of a cliff and contemplating taking the plunge and buying them. Fortunately, my MBA education taught me a thing or two about markups, and I just knew those Chanel...

LOVE these boots

Image
best boots review on FRYE Womens Jane 14L Brown Love these boots ! Originally, I bought the extended calf (on eBay- by mistake!) and they were simply too wide for me. I'm 5'2" and 120 lbs but wouldn't describe myself as athletically built. I then bought the regular width and they fit perfectly with jeans tucked in or with tights or bare legs. This is my second pair of Frye boots and as with my Melissa Button boots , I bought these in a half size smaller than my regular 7. I probably could have gotten the 7 but I do like my shoes a bit snug and I don't wear thick socks with them anyway. I do have a high instep which can bother me in structured fitting shoes or boots but these seem fine- they are snug to pull on since there is no zipper but i manage just fine. The color is rich and warm and seems to match everything, whether I wear warm or cool colors- and with just a pinch of western styling, these boots look great with flowered dresses and ba...

boots review on FRYE Womens Melissa Tall Lace I also have the Frye Campus Lug Boot in Walnut. I bought Melissa in Black. The Campus boot is made in the U.S.; the Melissa is made in Mexico. I was a little disappointed they were not made in the U.S. These are great boots though. I usually wear a 9 and these fit well in a size 9. They are comfortable and supportive. I wear them several times a week and they still look like new after three months of wear. I have walked miles at a time in them and my feet have been very happy and I have plantar fasciitis so that is really saying something. Some key differences in this boot and the Campus boot: 1. The leather is stiffer and somewhat shiny. 2. They are narrower in the footbed. 3. The shaft is narrower-especially in the ankle area. 4. The heel is slightly lower. 5. The toe is more rounded than squared like the Campus. All in all, I like them...but I love, love, love my Campus boots . Get your FRYE Womens Meli...

40 + years for 1st pair of Frye boots

best boots review on FRYE Womens Campus Knee High Brown I got these boots in the brass colour. I was nervous because the actual marrione brass and bone boots are not supposed to have pink embroidery but rather white. This was an error on old gringo's part (a beautiful error) and only a select few retailers carry the pink embroidered pair. They are gorgeous! I am not sure whether they are worth 500 + dollars though. The leather is not as sturdy as I expected but having said that they are extremely comfortable as a result. These boots are very pointy toed which isn't as obvious in the images. They fit true to size exactly, I was expecting them to be large based on the other reviews but mine are a standard size 6. Lastly, I want to mention that I had an awful customer service experience with amazon as I was receiving multiple mixed messages about the status of my order. However, the craftsmanship of old gringo pulled through and made this order worth it! Get your FRY...

best boots review on FRYE Billy Pull On Chocolate Vintage Be prepared-people will try to buy these boots off your feet! I have 2 pairs-chocolate and black. I personally like the chocolate best. Very neutral and broken in looking, they look great with everything! On to fit-these boots are stiff and do require a break in period, also, I suggest a boot jack to help get them off Roma Wooden Boot Jack With Rubber Grip . As to size, I suggest going as true to your size as possible. I generally wear a size 6 but in most closed toe shoes that require a sock I go up a half size. I followed the recs on sizing for this boot and found them to not be true for me-I really needed what I thought I did-again a boot jack really helps.. My feet are high arch and average width. I have no issue with the shaft width but if you are worried about chaffing I suggest Lanacane Anti Chafing Gel, 1-Ounce (I am the blister queen and use this a lot). Am now a bootie in that i have many pairs of Fryes and Ariats in my closet. I wanted a chic smooth black leather tall boot to wear with breeches and slim jeans for just casual dress and not for riding. These boots are elegant in every aspect: Typical Frye quality which is excellent. A wee bit expensive yet when compared to some Dublin and Ariat riding they are not out of line. Here's one problem if you have either fat ankles, or inflexible feet as i do with one caused by injuries decades ago. It took me 15 minutes to get the left one on. i had to sit with my leg elevated with ice bag to reduce swelling from the days activities. Once the swelling reduced I got the boot on. The right one is not a problem. They are damn tight at first and difficult to put on. Just ordered a boot jack to help remove same!!! W...

boots review on Dan Postomens DP3459 Boot Sanded I just got the Sabrina tall boot in dark brown and they're wonderfully well-made. The leather is nice and thick, the stitching shouts 'quality' and the sole and heel are leather. They're a little difficult to pull on because they're not broken in yet, but the inside pull-up loops help. I love the fact that these are seriously well-made boots , and not just fashion boots , like I see so many women wearing. I can see these boots lasting a lifetime. They look great with both jeans and skirts, and I like that they're devoid of trendy stitching and such. They're understated and elegant, and the quality really makes them stand out. Frye makes a fabulous pair of boots ; this is my second pair. You really do get what you pay for, with Frye boots . I'm saving for yet another pair now! UPDATED Review/Everything Worked Out....Love 'em!!

Image
best boots review on FRYE Womens Elena Boot Black I got these because they filled several of my requirements -- I wanted plain boots , no buckles. Wanted a rubber sole that would be good on wet slippery surfaces. Wanted almond or rounded toe, not western style Preferred no zipper. I really love these-- got them last year and wore them a lot. They are very comfortable and easy to keep looking good. (Mine are brown leather). Because they have that slanted top-- higher on the outside of the boot than the inside, they have a bit of edge. The only bit of a concern is that they're fairly heavy -- not in an absolute sense but if you're used to wearing Uggs you'll notice the difference. Also unlike others I find that there is a little space between the top inside of the boot and my leg, even with jeans tucked in. They have a bit of a cavalier look to them-- not real fitted. But they couldn't be and still be a pull on with no zipper. Get your FRYE Womens Elen...

boots review on FRYE Womens Dorado Riding Black Hello, Whether you believe this or not this is my first review. I felt I should write one this go round,.. I wanted these boots for a few weeks and read review after review not for quality but for fit. I have a size 10-11 foot and I have a solid calf! For the cost of the boot, I didn't want to buy them and have to deal with returns etc. As I stated, I wanted these boots so after reading some very helpful honest reviews I went forward and purchased them. They are perfect. I went with a size 11 and have nice wiggle room and could even wear a light sock if I wanted too. They do not slide at all. The most important thing for me was to get them up and over the calf and they do and feel just fine. I hope this helps. And a thank you to all those folks who wrote reviews that helped me,.... best boots review on Old Gringo Womens Lauren Brass I just bought my first pair of Old Gringo boots and I can't say enough good things about them. I wanted a pair of nice cowboy boots but didn't want them to be too western. I bought the Old Gringo Lauren boots because they looked less flashy than some of the ones I really wanted. I'm so glad I picked this boot. They're an awesome, quality boot, that's not only chic but comfy. I normally wear an 8.5 - 9. I bought them in an 8.5 and was really scared I couldn't pull them on. I gave up the first time and was going to send them back for a size 9, but I could tell there was plenty of room in the boots so I tried again. I finally got them on and I'm so glad I did. I received them yesterday and wore them for the first time today. I've had them on for 7 hours and don't want to take them off. Thank you Old Gringo and Amazon for a great pair of boots . boots review on FRYE Womens Jane Tall Taupe For a few years now, I have looked for a tall black boot that is stylish but not so trendy that I won't be able to wear it past this season, and it has to be wearable (i.e., that I can actually walk in for long periods of time). When I would see an interesting boot, it invariably came down to the following: If I liked the height of the shaft, I didn't care for the shape of the heel. If the heel was the right height, the sole seemed thin. If the sole looked like it would last more than a week, the material of the boot looked flimsy. And so on. I couldn't find one boot that fit the bill...and believe me, I looked! I guess what makes me pickier is that I ride horses, and my tall English riding boots are of the durable material and walkable heel height that I feel is the minimum I would want. If they were a little more stylish (non-horsey) and comfortable (riding boots are made for riding, not walking), I probably wo...

boots review on Joan David Collection Womens Knee High I purchased these boots less than a week ago and they have already become a wardrobe staple. By expanding my research slightly beyond the Amazon.com horizon, I was able to see how these boots really fit, and make sure they were what I wanted. These boots are slightly more slouchy (baggy in some areas) than the images represent. If you want to see a true example of how the boots will look, I recommend heading over to Zappos.com and watching the video that comes with their product description. I bought my pair in Tan (size 9.5) and found it to be a true fit, with enough space in the shaft to tuck my boot-cut jeans into comfortably. The 2 1/2 inch heel gives me a touch of extra height and are still super comfortable to walk in. I have put these boots through their paces, spending hours walking around town in them, and they don't hurt my feet at the end of the day. The straps are adjustable for slight customiz...
