FRYE Womens Taylor Short Brown

I am a bit of a Frye afficianado, owning six pairs of Frye boots , some for as long as fifteen years and Frye never disappoints. The styling is always superb and in most cases is not of the moment, even if Frye incorporates some details that are in fashion at that time, Frye boots will never have to go to the thrift store with the acid washed jeans or the leg warmers or the bell bottoms. Frye style lasts a lifetime.

These Taylor Short Boots are no different. They have enough western styling to make them interesting, but not so much that they need to be classified as a western or cowboy boot exclusively. These would look great with jeans or a skirt in a major metropolitan area. Then there is the Frye fit and quality. Fyre boots never need to be broken in, they are comfortable from the first time they are worn, no pinching, no blisters, no tightness at the arch. They will last a lifetime with minimal care to the leather as well and have sturdy soles and heels. I have these in Fawn and they have been worn with both skirts and jeans and gotten compliments.     I bought my regular shoe size of 7 1/2 and the boots fit perfectly. Didn't even have to break them in because they are so comfortable.

    Besides saying that Frye boots and shoes are of the highest quality - these boots specifcally are a great height, supple, and break-in quick. I read mixed reviews on the sizing - and purchased both a 9 and 9 1/2 (I have average width feet, not skinny, and not wide). I'm normally a straight up 9 in almost all shoes, no matter the style. It's the case with these boots as well - so I recommend going with your normal shoe size. These will stretch out a bit overtime - so definitely do not size up.

Best riding boots ever!

boots review on FRYE Shirley Over The Knee Riding Leather I loved and wanted this boot regardless of the fact that i knew my calf size was larger then what the boot circumfrance stated. My calf is a 16 3.4.. but i knew that in a couple of days it would give and it did. When i first tried them on they wouldnt go pass my calf then after wearing them in the house they gave but then i realized i should have tried them with socks. I put the socks on and then in two days they stretched and fit my calf nicely. i always order a half size up, which was plenty of room to wear with socks and be comfy. I love this boot and thats why i took 4 days to decide if it was worth all the stretching and it was. Dont plan on buy another black boot for some years. One change I would make to these boots if I were the designer: I'd make them knee length. They are a little short for the style. I normally wear a 9.5WW. Even though these were only a W, I had plenty of room in the footbed. I've ordered about eight pairs of boots trying to find one to fit and wished I could have kept these, even as an extra pair, since they aren't going to go with everything. My beef with these boots is that even though the calf opening says 16 inches, I could barely zip them up on my 16" calves (where I could on other boots of the same width).
