FRYE Melissa Trapunto Knee High Antique

I had been stalking these boots for several months now and finally bit the bullet and ordered them in black. Gorgeous right out of the box. Leather interior, leather sole. The quality and workmanship on this boot is great. Now here is the real reason you should buy this boot: comfort, support, durability. I brought several pairs of shoes on our honeymoon to Paris and London. I knew we would be doing a ton of walking and purchased the Melissa boot 3 days before our honeymoon. Out of the 14 days that we were on vacation I wore the Melissa boot 14 of those days. They were amazing. They are so stylish looking that people often mistook me as Parisian. On most days we walked a MINIMUM of 8 miles. Our flat was on the 9th floor of a walk-up. We walked and walked and walked some more. These boots took the beating and kept on going. My feet felt great! And I had no issues with chafing or blisters. It wasn't till day 13(we toured the Lourve the day before so my feet took a beating) that my feet started hurting. Great boots that really stood up to the test of cobblestone streets and many miles. I will have these boots for years to come!

    The picture of the black looks kinda antiqued or distressed on here. I really liked that look, that's why I ordered them. Upon arrival I was a bit disappointed to see that the black is just black, jet black. No faded, greyish spots like in the picture. That being said, they are still beautiful boots. The leather s georgous! The fit is perfect. I did not have the fit issues that the previous commenter had. The calf opening is a great fit and I have larger calves. The boot is fairly narrow, but I would expect that in a riding boot. All in all, I'm keeping them. I do love them, just was expecting a different color.

    Great boots. If you have large calves, you will need to either have them stretched or be patient and let them stretch on their own. Also, use the plastic bag trick to put them on the first few times, it really helps.
    Beautiful leather, well made, comfortable.

    I really like these boots! Leather quality is amazing. I got the black. When they came, they were very grey and distressed looking like the picture shows. I did not want them quite that "chalky" looking. So I took some bee's wax made for shoes/leather and put that on them. It did the trick. They look perfectly rustic but not at all grey just a very pretty distressed black. These boots are great and for the price on amazon, they are a good deal- as far as Frye's go.

    Beautiful boots! Even though boots are said to stretch after wear, I would say to order at least half size up. Very difficult to get on if they are snug. Calf is also snug and would need to be stretched by a cobbler in order to tuck in skinny jeans etc. I do have muscular calves though... These are absolutely stunning however and the leather is beautiful. I am in love with these but sadly had to return as they were to small - I am normally a 9/10 with very wide feet. Ordered a 9 and would need at least a 9.5 or 10.

Best riding boots ever!

boots review on FRYE Shirley Over The Knee Riding Leather I loved and wanted this boot regardless of the fact that i knew my calf size was larger then what the boot circumfrance stated. My calf is a 16 3.4.. but i knew that in a couple of days it would give and it did. When i first tried them on they wouldnt go pass my calf then after wearing them in the house they gave but then i realized i should have tried them with socks. I put the socks on and then in two days they stretched and fit my calf nicely. i always order a half size up, which was plenty of room to wear with socks and be comfy. I love this boot and thats why i took 4 days to decide if it was worth all the stretching and it was. Dont plan on buy another black boot for some years. boots review on La Canadienne Womens Blanche Patent Maybe these aren't high-heeled sexy boots , but these boots are sexy and crazy cute. I ordered them in cherry. One change I would make to these boots if I were the designer: I'd make them knee length. They are a little short for the style. I normally wear a 9.5WW. Even though these were only a W, I had plenty of room in the footbed. I've ordered about eight pairs of boots trying to find one to fit and wished I could have kept these, even as an extra pair, since they aren't going to go with everything. My beef with these boots is that even though the calf opening says 16 inches, I could barely zip them up on my 16" calves (where I could on other boots of the same width). I wouldn't recommend buying them unless your calves are 15.5 or under. The leather does not feel like the type to stretch. A huge plus: these are extremely comfortable.
