love them!
boots review on Old Gringo Womens Minisora Chocolate

I bought these boots a few days ago in black. In case you're wondering, they look exactly like they do on the website! I'm sure the caramel is absolutely gorgeous!
I have always wanted a pair of boots that was weather-worthy but not clunky and ugly. This boot is the answer to all of my prayers! -- it is beautiful and stylish, and it has a special insole for stability. I am looking forward to trying it out this winter because it seems no matter what type of boot or shoe I wear, I always end up falling down everywhere.
If you are a city girl like me, don't be turned off by the fact that they are "utility" boots for equestrian sports. These are as gorgeous as any pair that I've ever seen for city use, but more durable. I expect that I will have them with me for a long time to come. They also make a slender silhouette instead of widening around the calves like other boots tend to do.
I am 5'3", my calves are 15" around at their widest point, and I generally wear a size 8.5. My foot slid right into the first boot I tried, but I had a heck of a time zipping it up, even with the generous goring around the edging. I was finally able to zip it all the way up after I tugged on the goring and pulled it over to the seam of the other zipper.
At first I thought they didn't fit. Then I realized that's how a boot is supposed to fit - snug! My feet shouldn't be shuffling around inside of them! They are extremely comfortable - haven't hurt my feet at all. I've been wearing them constantly to break them in. I even like to sleep in my boots in the winter, lol; they keep my feet nice and toasty!
Follow-up review: It's been a few months and I'm still loving them. The true test is that I have a lot of shoes and boots in my wardrobe, but I wear these boots more than anything else. They are so comfortable I forget I have them on. They are just a perfect fitting boot, as though they were made for me. The other day I was forced to slog through a huge puddle of ice water that encased both my feet. When I stepped out, my feet were as dry as before! Although my other boots have scratches and marks, these Ariat boots seem resistant to wear. They don't have a scratch on them and everything I get on them seems to wipe right off. I wear them with everything and they look great. There is nothing that doesn't go with them -- jeans, jeggings, leggings, skirts, dresses -- they look great with everything. I really love the fact that this boot does not slouch around the ankles. It creates a very streamlined look. The boots hug my legs and don't pouch or slouch everywhere. I think that is why they are good for both large and small calves. They hug the leg. Part of this effect is the generous elastic goring around the calf. It makes for a customized fit, expanding or contracting to accommodate the leg as needed. Also, the rubber sole is great. Keeps me steady on my feet, whereas some of my other boots have me toppling over. Anyway, I can't say enough good things about these boots . If you are considering taking the plunge, there are some other websites that feature pictures of the boots being worn. I found them quite helpful when I was thinking about buying them. I am about to buy my second pair in the caramel color.
Further follow-up: I just received the caramel-colored boots and they are gorgeous. It only took minutes to put them on. They fit as well as my black pair. Now I just need to wait until they make the boots in more colors!
Beautiful boots. They are more dressy than I'm used to but with more wear they should be in my league. They feel like heels, which i never wear, but manageable. I was afraid the toe would be uncomfortably tight, I don't wear pointy shoes but they are fine. I was tempted to buy a size bigger in case this was a problem but I didn't and I'm glad.
ReplyDeleteLove this boot...but be warned, it has the longer pointed toe which some don't like. Good quality and great value since I found it in the Warehouse and they are like new. Great find for me.
